It’s not even a small amount, it’s about 20$ in the meatballs. A big shame as they used to have flourless items in the range.

I didn’t read the entire site but it mentioned all life stages for the containers of balls. I was doing home cooked but my dog likes these and Im sometimes time poor. Your review is not very positive, so I looked a bit harder, maybe you should also! https://4legs.com.au/

Hi June, please don’t feed your collie your ear!

Dogs get addicted to certain foods for the same reasons we do, but we know that doesn’t mean those foods are healthy. Kids love Maccas, and I think it’s fair to say we’d all eat chocolate and cake all day if we didn’t know it was bad for us.

Keep up with the liver – such a nutrient powerhouse. As are other organs and other animal/prey foods which our dogs should really have as the majority of their diet.

My puppy loves liver, she will eat anything if I sprinkle a few bits of liver treats on top. Why do so many dogs and puppies love MY DOG. Perhaps the dogs themselves are the experts. They seem to be able to judge things we cant. Why not the dry rubbish that cost an arm and leg. I am not going to listen to the experts any more, My border collie gets my ear from now on.!!!

It gets confusing ….

Hi Bruce, meat is high moisture content and wheat flour is low moisture. So when you take moisture out of the equation it’s a different story.

(Although g’day to you too, Charbel.)

Mr D’Angelo, I am generally trusting of your reviews, but I don’t think this one meets your usual standard. You state that “This leaves the two main ingredients as meat and flour. If these are in the same amount ….” But they’re NOT the same amount. The 4Legs website states that the “Natural Gourmet 1.3kg” is 75.5% meat and 17.6%/17.7% wheat flour, depending on the variation. The “Natural Wellness 870g” is “only” 72.1% meet, with slightly less flour and slightly more vegetables.

You conclude: “The 4Legs products may seem to contain a decent amount of meat based on meat being the first ingredient, but this isn’t quite the case when you realise what other ingredients are significant.” It IS the case, when you do the research to find out the ingredient mix. In fact, the meat-based ingredients far exceed the ratio of dogfoods you highly recommend.

In short, I think you might want to take another crack at this product review.

I actually asked you folks about it around 17 months ago. it was around the time that i got my dog (Zara) as she was 12 months at the time.(family no longer wanted her) I was experimenting with foods and thought this was a good one. I was mislead due to all the praise from the website product reviews. So glad i have this fantastic site to know what’s good and bad food.

ps: I’m sorry for commenting again, haha.
