Have you reviewed the butchers dog? I am looking for a good quality yet on the more affordable side raw food ( specifically one that is safe and balanced to meet a puppies nutritional needs) I am seeing mixed reviews on it and have skimmed the ingridients and its seems alright however I am not the best at understanding the diet needs of dogs so would love if you could review it if you haven’t already, and thanks for all the work you have put into this website it has been so helpful.

I just want to let you know that Petzyo IS available in retail stores- Petstock for one- and they offer samples of it (for free) if they have the stock for it. My dogs love it!

Have you reviewed Blackhawk? My kelpie and mini schnauzer seem to be doing ok on the lamb and rice (kelpie) and chicken (mini schnauzer). They also get some vegetables. I have often considered changing but the dog food topic seems to be a minefield. live in New Zealand.

Hi David, I have 3 girls, & one is a breeding girl. I love Lyka, & will continue to feed this to my girls at dinner, though I’m not happy with my current dry food, so looking for a budget friendly alternative due to cost of living. I’d love to know what dry kibble you feed your doggies. Cheers & thanks

Good article and site – great to get perspectives on ingredients and marketing spin. There’s always some trade off! Just note that Open Farm product is a minimum $17 per kg for 10kg bag currently – may need to be updated. 99petshops can help with price comparison and finding a good deal. As well, many pet shops price match with competitors.

In reply to Jack Easter. Hi Jack, Bill who originally formulated M4M is the owner of LifeWise. M4M was originally manufactured by Natural Balance, then switched to Hypro, then switched once more a couple of years ago. So that's the MFM link, but LifeWise and Hypro are separate.

Hi there
I’m just seeking clarification as an ex-M4M enthusiast (I dropped them when they changed ingredients etc). You state that both Lifewise and Hypro are creations of the original M4M product…..!!! Is that a mistake? Is the guy who made the original Meals 4 Mutts really making 2 different brands now?
