Could you please give me your opinion on Vetalogica dry food. I usually alternate between Fisherman’s Feast and Hunter Valley. My dogs love it (both Border Collies) and they only get as a topper (1 cup between them) on their raw food that I prepare.
TIA

Such a great informative read. It’s so refreshing to read something by someone who sounds like they actually have the same intention as I do and that is providing our dogs, often our best friends and family, with the best care we know how to give them.

Your work is truly appreciated.

Lyka is also way over priced! Take a look at Wolfit Box. Deliver nationwide. I’m sold on this product.

I too expected Lifewise to be on the list. Curious to hear why it isn’t please.

Sometime back in 2019 (since 2020 is like living in a never ending nightmare…) or so, I did read on the local paper that a lady employee of a shire’s mayor office, found among invoices she was sorting out, a receipt for Roundup. Along with two other female work colleagues stormed into the mayor’s office to question him about it.
The mayor answered their questions with a question: ‘What is about this product that upsets you all so much?’. So the three ladies explained to him how this roundup is basically the cancer giving product ‘par excellance’ and to make sure the shire worker did stop using it immediately. So the mayor then assured the three ladies he was to personally investigate the situation straight away. After a couple of days, he called the three ladies in his office to inform them that the product was going to stay. For the shire worker told him that more environmentally friendly products were more expensive and did take longer to get rid off weeds and whatever else in nature, that according to the shire worker’s opinion, needs to be exterminated as well.
You can imagine what went through my head after I put the paper down … I take my dog for walks on footpaths but in some places there is a bit of a green strip between the path and the road. It also seems is the fav place for dogs to shovel a poop nugget on the pile of wood chips put around the far younger trees’ trunks. … Poop for poop … 🙂 Some people do garden the so called crown land themselves, some wait for the shire worker to do it itself, but then I do walk him around an artificial pond/lake and as we walk mostly on the concrete path, is there to wonder … gives me the chills thinking that we sat on top of small green hill under a tree few times for ten mins each or so. Perhaps grass just gets cut up there… no disgraceful lethal chemicals exposure.
The thing is that if they put a warning sign, then they will have to cope with the very pissed off public, and not putting it, means … if any contract cancer out of it, who would even consider such exposure possibility.
But cause you know what caused cancer in Archie, then there must be tests that can be carried out.
So I am wondering if it was you the vet that ran such testing or was done by a vet friend as a courtesy (for free sounds so.. materialistic). Meaning, a dog’s owner that had his dog killed by cancer, gets the test done by its own vet as part of a procedure (eg euthanasia) or if the individual has to ask for it, and how much would the (azzhole) vet demand for it…
Would be great if you could reply in here to help everybody to be aware of the locations they take their dogs for a run or a walk, and important info about this type of test.
Just out of curiosity a bit of a personal question …
Did you used to take Archie to the same parks for a run and who is responsible for these green areas maintenance? If is/are the shire(s) would be worth to sue the hell out of them? Not for the money per se’, as much as to have the irresponsible user(s) to be punished accordingly. Names and surnames first. Isn’t gardening its or theirs own profession? Therefore incompetence of such kind is not to be justified whatsoever. Then one can take the shire per se’ to the cleaners for employing incompetent individuals (starting with the mayor in the above mentioned situation), for exposing human beings, animals, insects, birds, maritime life, bore waters etc etc to the nasties cancer giving crap …eg bunnings is still allowed to sell! eg shires allow to be used in green pulic areas… If people in general were not to waste six hours a day staring at a screen and caring only about their own private fan clubs bubbles lives, perhaps murder attempts of such kind would have never be allowed to happen all together. Unfortunately today can be seen everywhere that is definitely not a matter of ifs. The social and brain damages are not of the temporary kind any longer.
Anyway thank You so much for all your hard work, kindness, human being level care and your honesty. Not many left like yourself out there … not many at all. 🙂
Ps location is a sub five km air distance from Perth, WA.

Couldn’t agree more! Some aren’t accurate either – for instance, Eureka Pet Food have a really high score, but they use pet grade ingredients not human grade.

In my opinion there are so many other better options available! Thank you.

The Orijen dog food review was done many years ago and the brand was sold. The price is now not anymore expensive than brands like Royal Canin. Its not a premium product anymore.
