The 9.5/10 score for Eureka is not only absurd—it’s misleading. Here is what this “excellent” review conveniently forgot to mention while they were busy setting up their commission links:

The Synthetic Reality: David claims there are “no bad ingredients whatsoever,” yet the ingredient list clearly includes synthetic vitamins and minerals. If a food is truly “whole-prey” and “supreme quality” as claimed, it should be nutritionally complete from the ingredients themselves. Relying on lab-made powders to meet AAFCO standards is a shortcut, not a gold standard, and it certainly doesn’t warrant a near-perfect score.

The “Human Grade” Myth: For a food priced at a premium, consumers should know that Eureka does not use human-grade meat. There is a massive regulatory and quality gap between pet-grade “wild caught” proteins and actual human-consumption standards. If you are paying ZIWI Peak prices, you should be getting human-grade transparency, not pet-industry leftovers.

Conflict of Interest: It is impossible to trust a 9.5/10 rating when the reviewer is offering a “special deal” and receiving a kickback for every subscription. This isn’t journalism; it’s sponsored content masquerading as health advice. A truly unbiased reviewer wouldn’t need a “kill step” for their integrity.

To anyone reading this: Do not take these scores at face value. When a reviewer profits from your purchase, the “health and wellbeing” of your dog takes a backseat to their conversion rate. You are better off visiting independent forums, checking transparent blogs, or speaking to industry professionals who don’t have a financial incentive to steer you toward a specific bag of food.

Stop falling for the “American Made” shield—demand better transparency regarding what is actually in the bowl.

Hi Greg,

I agree about Lyka, it’s become crazy expensive. My understanding is that after an overseas investor from Israel invested $30m in the company, profit margins needed to increase and hence the price hikes. Have a look at Wolfit Box. It’s a fantastic alternative. It’s a raw and completely balanced diet but you can gently cook it if you prefer. My dogs have been thriving on Wolfit for several years and I honestly can’t recall the last time they were sick.

That is a great idea (and not because we share a name!!!) – my dog also would probably do even better with just kangaroo – but maybe that would be too lean??

Totally agree Sammy.
It’s such a shame the cost of this product because my dogs liked the ones that I got when I ordered the sampler packs. Would love to support this business but it’s just way too expensive.

I have found this food fantastic. I use it as a topper and also as training food treats. I have three shelties. I feed them lightly cooked grated vegetables, with either cooked chicken breast, tuna, sardines, raw human grade beef with Eureka as a topper and a blob of greek yoghurt as their main meal. If you subscribe they send you a packet of dog treats usually worth about $17 and are great to try. I will stick with the food. I get a bag every 8 weeks. The chicken is less expensive and certainly better than other chicken dog foods.

The price of this product is just far too expensive and I don’t want to use it as a “topper”… they need to reconsider the price without compromising the quality.
