I was about to try Fussy Cat because it’s easy to find at Woolies, but after reading this, I’ll definitely reconsider. It’s disappointing that brands can market ‘premium’ foods that are mostly vegetables and by-products instead of real meat. I appreciate the transparency here — it really helps everyday cat owners make better choices for their pets.”

I’ve been considering Fussy Cat for my cat, but this makes me think twice. I didn’t realize how much of it could just be vegetable fillers and ambiguous meat by-products. Definitely going to look at other options like Applaws instead.”

I’ve been buying Fussy Cat for convenience, but never realized how many of the ingredients were so vague. It’s disappointing that something marketed as “premium” can still be mostly vegetable waste instead of real meat. Appreciate the clarity—definitely rethinking what I feed my cat now.

So about 4 yrs ago, on here I think, I left a review that after giving our rescue ginger Tom fussy cat he cost me a fortune in vet bills because he got that feline urinary disease, spent a fortnight at the vets being catheterized over & over & then I had to buy super expensive wet food till he passed ( he unfortunately died about 6 months later).
Two days ago, because it was on special & the ingredients read, as the old ingredients, listed above in a comment, I decided to give it a go.
Now after one whole day of feeding, one of our cats is showing the same symptoms .
Fussy cat is dangerous is all I can say. She is bearing down constantly & doesn’t know what to do with herself.
I’m taking that crap back to the supermarket tomorrow & getting my money back.
If the ingredients are right, as listed, then this shouldn’t be happening.
There must be some strange additive in it, like someone else mentioned.
The ppl going off at you are probably ppl from the company. That’s how the Chinese do business.
I didn’t know this company was Chinese owned, otherwise I would never have bought it.
Now I know for a fact, that this is caused by this product.
This is not any coincidence.
This is bs.
Ppl need to be aware of the poor manufacturing and lack of care with additives.

Hi Theresa, if you read the reviews of some of those “scientific” brands you’ll note the ingredients aren’t very “carnivore” despite the hefty price tag.

As for Fussy Cat, if you’re happy with it then that’s fine and your choice. Hopefully this review has given you an indication of what it’s made from.

I wonder why it is that ‘experts’ only recommend THE most expensive cat foods ??????

Hi Cat, originally Fussy Cat was rated 3/5 (old rating system), but the ingredients were different. Originally the first ingredients were “Salmon & Fish Meal, poultry Meal and Meat Meal, Real Chicken Meat, Potato, Field Peas, poultry Tallow (Preserved with Mixed Toccopherols)….”

I also receive a lot of feedback per brand, and the feedback I receive for the manufacturer of Fussy Cat hasn’t been as good as others.

I recall several years ago, you rated this food higher than the current rating. You didn’t say it was the best or recommended but that it was decent for a supermarket product.

My two cats love the dry food Fussy Cat. Maybe do a review of that instead of just showing the picture
