The 80/10/10 rule simply mimics prey, although 80% meat, 10% organ, 10% bone can often be interpreted incorrectly and often doesn’t include fibre sources such as fur or feathers. Cats not fed fibre can lead to constipation – more so with older cats – and not including around 5% liver can also be problematic over the long term.
