The meat claim is less than half. Fact. Check with them, not me.I also know (fact) that responses between all brands are not consisent. Example this brand with respnse “Generally if a dog has been fed a single brand of food for a long period of time then reactions to a new food can be common. The cause may not necessarily be the new food, but the result of an intolerance which has built up from a generally unvaried diet. The same applies to us – if we restrict our diets for a long period of time, such as cutting out milk or dairy, then if we reintroduce such foods we suffer an upset stomach. So it’s worth considering if your dog has become intolerant to ingredients in Instinctive Bite which aren’t found in Eukanuba.” isn’t the same response amongst other brands that are less favourable to you or don’t pay advertsing fee to eSensible Pty Ltd. I’m also reading a brand has for example 40 SKU’s and only 1 out of 40 SKU’s (the best one) is selected for review. And the 39 are not even close to the one reviewed. 5 poor complaints on other brands scores significantly lower than this due to 5 poor complaints. And there are equal part complaints with brands that pay for advertising and the highest rating. Without a doubt, to manage all these reviews with one or two people is difficult. Some reviews are inspired by your preference with raw feeding (absolutely nothing wrong with that) but you seem to watch a video or read a book by Tom Lonsdale that gave you 3 and a half hours lecture about teeth and suddenly the mood shifts negatively while writing reviews about certain dry foods.
Don’t favour companies as the review can work against you from the people that understand your reviews. 99% of the reviews read by people are relied from you. Your reviews are biased. Factual information, 3 brands made in the same plant, very similar ingredients, very similar/on par nutritional panel, labelled differently, reviewed very differently. But somewhat they’re the same. They all have the same problem. 5 people happened to complai to your site, negatively reviewed. The other companies have the same issue, no complaints on this site, rated well. The ones that pay to advertise here.
All I’m saying is go back to the drawing board, re-read the ingredients/nutritional panel, and re-write the scores in a fair way. Example when someone expresses diarrhea in this review and the rating stays at 8.4, do the same with other brands. And remove the rest of your facebook personal profiles so no-two Davids are commenting. FB groups show what you comment in a group in case you forgot.

I think a really important part of pet food, and especially reviews, is transparency even of the small things, not because those things are innately wrong but because it sets a pattern of ensuring consumers are informed and aware.

With that in mind, I think it would be very worth adding a disclaimer to the top of this review to note that Instinctive Bites is owned, wholly licensed, or some another arrangement of significant control (unfortunately that information is not easily found online) by PetCircle, and that this page includes affiliate/tracking links to PetCircle. There isn’t necessarily an issue with a review including affiliate or ‘click-though’ tracking links as part of a business agreement with PetCircle, but I think it’s fairly universally agreed that ethical transparency would include a disclaimer about this very clearly at the top of the review.

As a side note to that, I’d love to see petfoodreviews publish a ‘policy’ outlining how it does/will engage in these sorts of business transactions and a commitment to specific methods used to ensure independence of reviews.

2/5 stars for actual quality; 1/5 stars for poor company ethos

Lots more grass eating, non-stop diarrhoea. I am glad I only bought a small bag, but 5kg is still too much if she has the shits from only a half serve of it. Ugh

Hi Adrienne,

I assume by accidents you mean diarrhea?

Generally if a dog has been fed a single brand of food for a long period of time then reactions to a new food can be common. The cause may not necessarily be the new food, but the result of an intolerance which has built up from a generally unvaried diet. The same applies to us – if we restrict our diets for a long period of time, such as cutting out milk or dairy, then if we reintroduce such foods we suffer an upset stomach. So it’s worth considering if your dog has become intolerant to ingredients in Instinctive Bite which aren’t found in Eukanuba.

All that said, we should also keep in mind a dog food may be the cause of problems, so I won’t discount Instinctive Bite as the cause.

Within a few weeks she was having difficulty making it through the night and there were a number of unfortunate accidents as a result. I have since changed her back to Eukanuba and the problem is improving considerably.

She has never had any previous difficulty with any food so a warning to be wary of using this food.

Hi Jenny, I’ve updated the review. For the price, as a more budget-friendly option than similar brands, I find it fairly decent.

I’m not sure why they are out of stock but I can still order it from past auto deliveries…
Tried it and still got my order even though they have been out of stock for awhile now.

Yes I’ve been chasing this for weeks! Pet circle and have been less than helpful with letting me know what’s going on! I keep getting the response “I’m not sure what’s going on”… I changed over to Hypro premium lamb and brown rice in the meantime but my dog doesn’t seem as keen on it.. it’s very dry and has a strange texture
