my dogs absolutely love Man’s Best dog food! I think they had some manufacturing issues a few years ago but since I’ve put my dogs onto their food a year ago they have never looked better! Their moods also changed in a positive way, will happily keep feeding Charlie and Bailey this food!

The issue with mould is a tricky one. It can occur due to a bag not properly sealed from the manufacturer, but also conditions the bag goes through once leaving the manufacturer, such as in transport or in a warehouse. Humidity and temperature are obviously factors.

I find mould can affect many brands over time unfortunately. Some brands it can be less common, from the use of preservatives which in turn may be problematic. Many good brands use natural preservatives (such as rosemary), which means they are more susceptible to mould issues.

This stuff has changed recently, it used to be a clean compact kibble, the last bag was all broken , messy and oily. No thanks.

In reply to Jane Curtain. I have been feeding my cavoodle this food (lamb) and the most recent batch made him sick. We found mould in a newly opened bag. Have shifted to Hills Biome and that has cleared up his tummy upset - it’s expensive but cheaper than multiple vet bills.

Absolutely dreadful stuff. Should be renamed “Pup’s WORST”
The breeder I purchased my cavoodle puppy from pushed me to buy a huge bag of it. My guess is that they have a sponsorship arrangement. My poor little puppy had constant severe gastric irritation (bloody stools and slow weight gain) that went on for quite a few weeks. Many trips to the vet, many times swapping out this dreadful Man’s Best kibble for a gastric-friendly chicken, rice and pumpkin diet until she recovered.
Breeder told me to persevere – that my puppy was just being fussy.
Rinse and repeat. Once I completely stopped feeding my poor pup Man’s Best, all her gastric problems disappeared overnight.
I then spoke to many other owners who had also been pushed to buy it. Same dreadful story for their little pups!
Avoid this alleged pet food.

My dog is constipated from eating this dog food. She has had it before so it’s not new to her. Her poo went really hard and a funny colour. She refuses to eat it this morning. Which is a worry she is a Lab and normally will guts anything down. This is the first time she has rejected food ever? I will letyou know how it goes.

Mans Best kibble smells really good, my fussy cat & dog loved it, Patch keeps sitting near the pantry where I store his dog food waiting for more Mans Best Lamb kibble…

I met the man who makes Man’s Best kibble at Dogs at the Park yearly event we have at Newcastle, he had samples of Mans Best new Fish formula, so I asked did he have a Lamb sample, Patch does really well on Lamb with his IBD, he said, no I don’t any Lamb samples, then he handed me a 2kg bag of Man’s Best Lamb kibble, I said are you sure, he said Yes take it, that was very nice of him.

He told me Man’s Best kibble was formulated by a vet Nutritionist formulated, he said Man’s Best is made at Tamworth all American Lamb…

The kibble bag packet is very good quality, silver lined & very thick, also has clip seal to keep the kibble fresher longer, this kibble is really good quality, I’ve seen a few American made kibbles & they don’t look or smell the best.

If you have a fussy dog I highly recommended “Man’s Best” he/she will love it. Try the new Ocean Fish with Sardines formula for Summer & rotate with the Lamb or chicken Formula. If you have a dog with food sensitivities I highly recommend the Lamb formula, Patch is doing really well, no Diarrhea 🙂
