Yes our dog is a 2 and half year old shitzu x maltese. We started feeding her savoyrlife only as a top up with a wet food she seems to like it and the vet said she was getting the best from both and not to harsh on her digestive savourlife kibble goes a longer way this way because of the expense.

So far we only use savourlife as a small top up on her wet food. Her poos seem good however she does go twice a day sometimes. I will stick with savourlife at the moment but may think of switching to purina one which all my other dogs have had for years and lived till 17.wait and see.

Been using Advance Healthy Ageing for many years on the advice of our vet. Read that I should be varying their feed way too late but have started now.

Looking through the website to try to determine the best options for me based upon quality and price. Tough gig.

What advice, information can Petfood Review, or others, give me on this particular SavourLife product, please?
From the pack they cite the ingredients as
80% of protein from animal sources.
40% more fish oil than their adult chicken variety.
Double the glucosamine & chondroitin to support joint health – our highest strength recipe.
Added turmeric, a natural anti-inflammatory.

Guaranteed Analysis:
crude protein (min) 30%
crude fat (min) 12%
carbohydrates (min) 37%
crude fibre (max) 5%
moisture (max) 10%
calcium (min) 1.5%
phosphorus (min) 0.9%
salt less than 0.6%
metabolised energy 3610 Kcal/kg

Ingredients (no percentages are listed):
chicken meal
tapioca
field peas
chickpeas
poultry oil
alfalfa
natural flavouring
fish oil
vitamins & minerals & amino acids
flaxseed
sea salt
superfood mix (tomato, sweet potato, kelp, carrot, broccoli, blueberries)
yucca schidigera extract
glucosamine & chondroitin
turmeric
chicory root (natural prebiotic)
natural antioxidants (including rosemary extract and green tea)

There is a long list of essential & nutritional vitamins (14) and minerals (7) and amino & fatty acids (5)

Looking forward to any replies, please and thank you.
Cheers, Wayne

Transitioned him slowly and tried the whole bag. His stools were sloppy, he seemed sad and depressed for the time he was on this food. When we finished the 15kg bag of savourlife we changed to Lifewise. His stools are firmer and he is back to his old happy bouncy self. Savourlife 1/10.

I’ve tried just about every hypoallergenic food on the market. SavourLife Sensitive and Royal Canin are the only ones that significantly reduce the rashes.
Given Royal Canin is about twice the price and the protein source is mainly Soya, I’m really happy with SavourLife. It’s definitely worth trying if your dog has food allergies.

I won’t be buying the SavourLife Training Treats anymore… all the treats are now cut in half and there is no weight on the packet.

I hope you don’t donate to The Animal protection society, because only 5c out of the $ goes to them after the CEO and staff are paid + all expenses . . .

I’m pretty sure you’ll see Savour life gives 50% of PROFITS ❣️

It is not just marketing, they can get those 50% back via tax return. So much for good Samaritans.

Yes, it’s definitely smart marketing. People assume they’ll buy a bag of dog food for, say, $100, and $50 will go to charity. Not so, it’s $100 minus production costs, packing costs, marketing costs, premises costs, expenses, and whatever salaries of staff and executives which are largely fluid.

Sorry to hear it gave the puppies diarrhoea. Noted.
