I wanted to share my positive experience of Stratch dog food. I decided to transition my super sensitive standard Dachshund from Royal Canin Hypoallergenic to Scratch. Royal Canin was super expensive, made oversees and my boy didn’t like it. I was very hesitant to try Scratch as I didn’t want to deal with runny poos! The Scratch website made a great recommendation for his issues and customer service advised that if my Pup couldn’t eat it I could keep it and give it away and get a refund. Thankfully there was no need for this. Teddy loved it from the get go and he’s a VERY fussy boy. It smells so fresh too. I bought the Salmon and Mackeral as it’s meant to be good for sensitivities. We transitioned over a week and no tummy upsets. It worked out alot cheaper too. I love that it’s locally made. Highly recommend. You can use this first order code for a $20 discount if you want to give it a go REFBKN2K8HPW6.

My dog has always been a fussy eater and it was really hard to find him a food that he actually likes but the Scratch Dog food is amazing and my dog loves it. Never leave any food in his bowl now . I am very happy with the Scratch Dog food. Thank you

Just started using Scratch and I’m very happy with it! My sensitive Frenchie is doing wonderfully on 50/50 raw and kangaroo. After years of stinky we finally don’t have to take shelter after meals. Coat is shinny and less itching too.

For anyone who wants to try scratch ‘REFJHVRDKRRCT’ gets you $20 off your first box!

I received a full refund from them as I was not happy with my 9 year old 5kg dog on this amount of salt each day. Is that sodium level excessive? would love your thoughts please

I was wondering the same thing. Trying to choose between the two (also currently feeding Petzyo and Big Dog!) and looking at the two reviews side by side there isn’t a clear answer. Still not sure whether to switch or stick with what I’m doing already.

Is there are reason you give it a lower rating than Petzyo which you gave 9? Just considering that it’s higher protein (30 compared with 27) lower carb (32.5 compared with 41) and otherwise equivalent ingredients, I would think it deserves a similar score if not better?

Similarly with their raw products, it’s higher protein and similar ingredients to Big Dog which you give 9.3.

Or is the low score due to poor (or just lack of) customer experience with the brand?

He breaks out in hives with most foods, but this seems to have calmed his skin down. We pair this with Lyka as his breakfast with Scratch as his dinner. He is generally very fussy, and this is the only kibble he will eat by itself without having to mix toppers through. It also smells a lot fresher than kibbles we have purchased previously.

It’s her favourite after having tried Wolfit, Frontier and Eureka. We do 50% scratch raw and 50% Petzyo kibble. We just sign up for the 100% raw plan and adjusted the delivery frequency from there. Occasionally we’ll buy a small bag of frontier for some variety but Scratch Raw, Petzyo kangaroo kibble and dental treats such as chicken neck and bully sticks seems the way to go.

She seems to be happy and healthy. When we brought her home she had a few episode of stomach upset with loose stools, however since transitioning to Petzyo with others mixed in such as Eureka, Frontier and predominantly Scratch Raw as her favourite we had not had any issues.

The ingredients seem to be good whole ingredients. We just got a bag to try and our pup loves it. She has never liked raw before, we have always had to cook it for her to eat but she loves eating this one straight out of the freezer. We have tried Eureka, wolfit and frontier. This is by far her favourite of the lot. Highly recommended.

Stop feeding your dog kibble altogether with those two ailments. Make him some brown rice & veggie stew, add raw meat to it and maybe an egg occasionally & get him supplements for arthritis such as Green lipped mussel, glucosamine etc. I give mine all of that plus 4Cyte gel. Your vet can also give him a shot of glucosamine if needed. If you aren’t comfortable making fresh food for him yourself you can buy air-dried or freeze-dried food that you add water to or fresh food from Pet stores. I realise your comment is old and this reply may be too late but other people reading this might get something from it.
